WORK WITH US

I'm Saman Hussain,
Founder/CEO, and your Consultant

I’m a professional certified coach (PCC), mediator, facilitator, trainer, consultant – and a dedicated student of life. Over the past twelve years, i have facilitated and coached thousands of individuals and hundreds of teams, serving a diverse spectrum of the human family. I bring an uncanny depth, boldness and sense of play in my work. My work spans from coaching senior executives and teams, facilitating organizational change and resilience processes, negotiating policy making between the U.S. federal government and Tribal nations, and leading community reconciliation processes on contentious topics of historic and cultural significance.

MORE ABOUT ME

Scott Aikin, National Native American Liaison, US Fish & Wildlife Service

“I highly recommend anyone who faces seemingly impossible tasks involving relationship building between various backgrounds (be they government, non-profit, cultural or any other descriptors within our complex societal workings) to consider Saman for her tremendous facilitation skills. Her commitment to bring about the best understanding and empathy amongst diverse viewpoints is a tremendous benefit that can bring us to more robust and genuine outcomes within these complex and challenging tasks we face in our society today.”

Rabbi Yehuda Sarna, Skirball Executive Director and University Chaplain, NYU Bronfman Center

“Saman is masterfully analytical and playfully creative. She is a student of humanity in it fullest sensebody, mind and spirit. She can hold discomfort, tension, and power imbalance, only to release them in productive ways which spurs the group forward. She is meticulously prepared, always prompt, kind, and emotionally available. Saman has a naturally collaborative spirit and an inspirational demeanor.”

Assistant Professor of Restorative Justice and Peacebuilding, Co-Director, Zehr Institute for Restorative Justice, EMU

Saman is a skilled facilitator with a perceptive ear, a discerning spirit, and a deeply compassionate heart. I had the special opportunity to participate in two action research conferences that she facilitated based on the Future Search methodology that integrated arts-based, embodied, and dialogical approaches. I marveled at the ways that Saman enabled a large and diverse group of 39 people from around the world to build authentic relationships and connect -not as our professional roles, or as one-dimensional individuals - but as whole people bringing our stories, experiences, diverse faith traditions, communities, and skillsets. Moreover, the work that Saman facilitated was not mere community-building but deeply transformative elicitation of analysis, vision and strategies to address the core issue and question with which the group was tasked. As a facilitator and trainer who has witnessed a lot of excellent facilitation and training over the past twenty years, I can confidently attest that Saman Husain is among the best!

Brian Hires, Public Affairs Specialist

Having Saman as a leadership coach has been one of the best career moves I have made on behalf of my professional and personal growth during my time in federal service. Through Saman's skilful guidance, I have clarified not just my goals and intentions for my career and my life and what's holding me back, I have connected with a deeper sense of purpose, motivation and self-accountability. To every one of our coaching sessions, Saman has brought a rare sense of presence and active listening to hear and respond to not just words being spoken but deeper meanings and intentions behind them. In doing so, she helped me connect with a deeper sense of purpose and intention than even I was aware of. Through our coaching, Saman helped me identify and cut through lifelong excuses and avoidance tactics, perceived barriers and fears, and to then replace things that I was allowing to hold me back with grounded activities and practices that have helped me learn, grow and overcome. This has benefitted not just my work and professional goals but my entire life. I would recommend her to anyone looking to challenge themselves to become a more authentic, self-aware and genuine leader.

Pam Scruggs, US Federal Manager, Dept of Interior

“When I became a Federal manager overseeing 45 people and a high-profile controversial portfolio, I knew I needed professional help to succeed. The mission and the people who served it offered such great potential and were too important to fail. I didn’t know how I could possibly meet up to the task and then, I found Saman. My work with her over the past year and a half has been transformational - professionally and personally – and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work with her. Saman has also facilitated our Program through an initiative to improve our culture. She brings the same honest and uplifting approach to that work which begins with looking at and acknowledging where we are. And then building from our strengths, while creating supportive structures to transform us from a traumatized organization to a resilient one.

Leah McGinnes, Superintendent, Saguaro National Park

I would work with Saman again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend her as a coach or a facilitator if you are looking for someone that is forward thinking, honest, compassionate, intuitive and highly skilled at helping individuals find their best self and helping groups find their path forward.
